Jacob Gindin, MD
Since 2000, Dr. Gindin has been involved in Research in Geriatrics and Gerontology, and in the master's program in gerontology for medical doctors at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Haifa University, and was Associate Professor in the Faculty. Presently he is Director of the Center for Standards in Health and Disability in the Research Authority of the Haifa University. Presently he is the head of the Geriatric Services of the Assuta Medical Centers of Israel.
For two decades Dr. Gindin was the director of the Geriatric Institute of Education and Research, Kaplan Medical Center, Rehovot, Israel, and of the Geriatrics Department in the Hartzfeld Geriatric Hospital in the same center. He was also head of the School for Foreign Medical Graduates at the Kaplan Medical Center. He is a member of the Israel Society of Internal Medicine, Israel Medical Association, and of the American Geriatrics Society. Gindin was awarded grants from the Camp David Institute of International Health, New York, in 1978 and 1987, and has been a visiting assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City since 1989. He was a member of the board of the Israel Geriatrics Association and chaired its Academic Committee. He is a member of the Israeli National Council of Geriatrics, and chair of the Inter-Ministerial (Health and Social Affairs) Committee for Patient's Rights and Dignity. Professor Gindin became an interRAI Fellow in 1999. He is presently head of the interRAI Committee for International Development (CID) and a member of the Strategic and Operations Planning Committee (SPOC).
