Further evidence to support the validity of the Resource Utilization Groups for the Home Care instrument (RUG-III/HC) is published in the journal “Medical Care” in April. The research conducted by a team lead by Jeff Poss at the University of Waterloo in Canada used data from almost 30,000 Ontario cases to test the validity of the original classification system developed using field data from Michigan.
