Philip Baiden, PhD
Dr. Baiden is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. He obtained his PhD from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto in Canada, a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario in Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana. Dr. Baiden’s research focuses on non-suicidal self-injury among adolescents, suicide prevention research, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), adolescent health risk behaviors, social determinants of health, and international social work research.
In 2019, Dr. Baiden was named an Associate Fellow of interRAI. Using the ChYMH, Dr. Baiden is investigating the mechanisms and pathways linking adverse childhood experiences to non-suicidal self-injury among adolescents in mental health settings in Ontario, Canada.
